Fact check

The heading of an article in Dainik Bhaskar informed-“Will be able to read Gandhiji’s letters, free entry for students in uniform” (3 January 2020). The article informed for the first time, original letters written by Mahatma Gandhi will be displayed in Book Fair in Delhi from 4-12 January 2020.

Team SARCAJC did a fact check.

There was a theme pavilion focused on Mahatma Gandhi but there was NO display of original letters written by Mahatma Gandhi.

The digital displays were far too superficial.

The book fair was held in Pragati Maidan, which is under renovation. The walk from security check to hall no 12 was genuine suffering with acute foul smell accompanying you!. The food courts were far from hygienic. Most publishers offered 10 percent discount on books. But the real surprise was 90 percent discount by Publication Division of Government of India on many books. However, absence of internal transport from exhibition halls to the exit gate near metro station, left people to carry heavy books on their own risk- Oh!
